The Road
A path is already an argument: that movement can be told.
This name counts verified appearances. It does not grade the idea. Corpus size and editorial depth are different.

Roads are not metaphors first. They are dirt, sea lanes, ice leads, corridors of hospitals on the way to Compostela. Only afterward do they become figures for a life.
Watch how a tradition builds a road: as a line that can be reversed (pilgrimage), as a water that forgets (Odyssey), as a legal sentence (Ovid).
Do not say every culture ‘has the same road.’ They have roads. The sameness is what we have to prove, and usually cannot.
